Proton Inspira 1.8L Extractor

The Proton Inspira 1.8L (with Mitsubishi Lancer 4B10 engine) has been around for a while and we have the extractor for this model for so long. So sorry that we just realized, we have never featured it in our blog. So here you go, the SUPERCIRCUIT 4-2-1 extractor for Proton Inspira 1.8L.

The 1.8L engine on the Proton Inspira is similar to the Mitsubishi's 4B10 engine which is able to produce 138hp and 177Nm as claimed by the manufacturer.

The stock extractor of the Proton Inspira 1.8L is show below.

The SUPERCIRCUIT tuned length stainless steel extractor with compatible heat shield brackets is laying side by side with the Proton Inspira 1.8L stock extractor. The SUPERCIRCUIT 4-2-1 extractor has large primary pipes and longer secondary pipes which makes it more superior in terms of exhaust flow efficiency and creating back pressure hence more torque and horsepower.

The SUPERCIRCUIT extractor for Proton Inspira 1.8L is designed to be able to bolt-on straight away, no cut or welded is required during installation. Best of all, it also comes with brackets which are compatible with the stock original heat shield. That means the original heat shield can be installed back in position (SEE BELOW PHOTOS).

Honda HR-V/ Vezel Extractor & Installation Guide

The SUPERCIRCUIT Exhaust Headers/ Extractors made for the 2015 Honda HR-V 1.8L (R18Z9 engine) is installed to the car below.

The Honda HR-V 1.8L (coded R18Z9) engine shown below is popular among the Honda line-up. Other Hondas with the 1.8L engine carrying slightly different code and different engine tuning e.g. R18A2 on Civic FN, R18Z1 on Civic FB.

Since the 2nd generation Honda HR-V is comparatively new in this country and we probably is the first in producing the after marketing headers/ extractor for this variant, so we have more photos here about the installation and clarify the Gaskets issue which is always being asked; so our customers, installers and dealers can take this as a reference.

Firstly, when the factory stock header/ extractor is removed from the engine (ABOVE PICTURE), there is the original metal gasket (BELOW PICTURE) between the engine exhaust outlet and the header's top flange. This metal gasket is to be reused while installing the SUPERCIRCUIT header/ extractor.

It is easier to work with if the Connecting Pipe (BELOW PICTURE) is removed, it links the header to the rest of the exhaust system via this connecting pipe.

After the Connecting Pipe is removed, unveiled the bottom flange of the original Honda HR-V header/ extractor (BELOW PICTURE). Please note that, there is no gasket at this connection.

At the Connecting Pipe side, a metal ring is embedded on the flange, it is almost impossible to remove this metal ring. Honda parts catalog called this metal ring, "GASKET , EXHAUST PIPE (ISHINO) (59.5MM-60.5MM) Part No. 18212-671-003", so if you want to call it a gasket, go ahead.

This metal ring is to prevent the exhaust from leaking.

Below is how this Honda HR-V Connecting Pipe looks like. Honda parts catalog called this Connecting Pipe, "PIPE A, EXHAUST Part No. 18210-S2H-E01". So do we called it a Pipe A or a Connecting Pipe then? The choice is yours.

At the other end of the Connecting Pipe or you insisted to follow the way Honda called it, Pipe A, is sealed with the Conical Gasket/ Donut Gasket (BELOW PICTURE). The Conical Gasket has to be coupled with a Tapered Flange & fasten with Spring Bolts. Missing any one of them will not work. Remember to put them back in position.

Once the above is clear, it is now the installation of the SUPERCIRCUIT Honda HR-V Exhaust Header/ Extractor time.

First, remove all three studs from the stock header and they are to be used on the SUPERCIRCUIT header (BELOW PICTURE) later.

Install the SUPERCIRCUIT Header to the R18Z9 exhaust outlet (BELOW PICTURES), everything is just straight bolt-on. Remember to reuse the original Metal Gasket. Use of exhaust cement is recommended.

Special O2 SENSOR WRENCH is required to remove and reinstall the Honda HR-V O2 sensor (BELOW PICTURE) back onto the engine.

At the bottom flange, tighten the studs with nuts top and bottom (BELOW PHOTO). No extra gasket is required as the metal ring on the connecting pipe will seal it airtight. Exhaust cement is recommended, add extra gasket at will but not a must.

Reconnect the Connecting Pipe back in position.

The SUPERCIRCUIT headers are made of 304 stainless steel CNC mandrel bent piping, matched with stainless steel flanges and hand TIG/Argon welded with top notched craftsmanship.

Toyota Caldina ZT 2.0 Extractor

SUPERCIRCUIT has developed the exhaust headers/ extractor for the NA Toyota Caldina ZT 2.0L with 1AZ-FSE D-4 VVTi engine.

Unlike the Toyota Caldina ZT 1.8L 1ZZ-FE, the exhaust header/ extractor of the 2.0L 1AZ-FSE engine on the Toyota Caldina ZT can be located easily in front of the engine.

Picture below, the Toyota Caldina ZT 2.0L header vs. SUPERCIRCUIT stainless steel one (LEFT).

The EGR pipe of the headers has to be installed back in position to ensure everything is functioned accordingly.

Below picture, the Toyota Caldina ZT 2.0L 1AZ-FSE engine with SUPERCIRCUIT Exhaust Headers installed.

Toyota Caldina ZT 1.8 Extractor

SUPERCIRCUIT has developed the exhaust headers/ extractor for the NA Toyota Caldina ZT 1.8L with 1ZZ-FE VVT-i engine.
Toyota Caldina ZT 1.8L
Here is how the extractor is installed to the natural aspirated Toyota Caldina ZT 1.8L 1ZZ-FE engine below.

Toyota Caldina ZT 1.8L 1ZZ-FE engine bay.
Toyota Caldina ZT 1.8L factory stock headers shown below. The stock original exhaust header is made of mild steel and will get rusty over the years. The rust and carbon built up in the inner surface can restrict exhaust flow and retard the performance of the engine.

The SUPERCIRCUIT 4-1 Header/ Extractor for Toyota Caldina ZT 1.8L is made of grade 304 stainless steel, full mandrel bent and TIG/Argon welded. The effective diameter is larger than the factory stock extractor, hence less restriction and promote better exhaust flow.

The SUPERCIRCUIT Header/ Extractor made for Toyota Caldina ZT is designed to be able to straight bolt-on. It is compatible with the stock catalytic converter and the rest of the Toyota Caldina ZT exhaust system.
